Amanda Breed, CNM ![]() According to a family historian, my great, great, great, great grandmother was the midwife who caught Abraham Lincoln! So midwifery is in my blood. I started as an RN at Mount Auburn in labor and delivery, and then went to Seattle to study midwifery at the University of Washington. The most amazing birth was, of course, my own. My son was born into the hands of a midwife just as I was starting my first midwifery job. For the following three years I worked in a small community hospital in central Vermont where there were no epidurals. I am happy to complete the circle and return to my roots here in the Boston area. You can find me at our Arlington office where I’m enjoying working with women through their lifespan.
