I am a native Bostonian, though I somehow don’t have the accent. I was actually born at Mount Auburn Hospital, and grew up in Jamaica Plain and Brookline. I left Boston to go to Oberlin College and graduated from there in 1998 with a double major in Dance and History. I then went to New York planning to pursue a career as a dancer. After several years of small dance jobs, and running my own small company for a year, an ankle injury put the dance career path on hold. Around the same time I discovered Yoga, and made the transition from performing to teaching yoga around New York. I began to think about specializing in prenatal yoga when more and more pregnant women began showing up to my classes. I am trained in prenatal yoga, and I have also been trained as a birth doula, a HypnoBirthing Educator, and a fully fledged Childbirth Educator with CAPPA.

These days I teach both regular and prenatal yoga throughout the Boston area. I also attend births as a Birth doula, and I teach classes in HypnoBirthing and Natural Childbirth. My goal is to teach in a way that empowers moms and dads to believe in their own abilities and make the choices which are right for them. I am excited to join the Midwives practice as their childbirth educator.

In the hours when I am not teaching classes or attending births I am also an avid cyclist and triathlete. I also love hiking, meditation, yoga, knitting, and seeing friends for a good meal. I still dance for fun and am working on improving my Salsa skills
