The Midwives at Mount Auburn offer weekend childbirth education classes. Bec Conant and Marissa Farrell are both experienced Childbirth Educators. Both have taught Childbirth Educaiton classes for a number of years, and both are also Doulas and Prenatal Yoga Instructors.
The class covers relaxation and breathing, the process of labor and birth, emotional and physical reactions during labor, methods of coping with labor pain, labor complications, and common interventions, among other topics. Videos and a tour of the Birthplace are included. Click here for an online tour! Spouses/partners are encouraged to attend. Attendees should bring a lunch and two pillows.
Speciality classes for those planning a VBAC, c-section, or those who would like a refresher course are available upon request. |

It is advisable to register in your 5th or 6th month of pregnancy, as class size is limited. |
