Deb completed her midwifery studies at Columbia University, receiving an MSN in 1987. She is also certified as an Unlimited Body Practitioner.
"I have been enjoying midwifery since 1986, after first obtaining a BA in English in 1974, and working in retail management for years. My specialty was health food stores, so I have a longstanding knowledge of nutrition and supplements that I can use for my clients and expand upon as they teach me. My delightful sons Kai and Teague were born into the hands of my friend and CNM colleague Valerie Hodenius, assisted by Ellen Israel who previously worked at WomenCare. My midwifery and my children have been 'the gifts that keep on giving.' What fascinates me is the spiral of connection and 'coincidence' we all encounter, and the grace we receive by staying present."
