Janna Stephan, CNM joined us in the beginning of April. She comes to us from the Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport where she was working as a full scope midwife for the past two and a half years. She has been a midwife for five years, and is excited to be joining our practice. Janna is currently working at the Joseph Smith offices and MIT.
Margi Coggins, CNM will be joining us full time in September. She began working part time in the spring in the last few months of her pregnancy, and is now enjoying time at home with her three girls. Margi and her family welcomed their newest addition, Yvonne Zoe, on the morning of April 28th, and called us all at our meeting two hours later to tell us! Margi will be working mainly at our Arlington office. She has been a midwife in the Cambridge area for many years and is looking forward to joining us.
Sadly, Julie Mann will be leaving us at the end of June. She and her family are moving to New Mexico to live on the Navajo reservation. Julie will be looking to continue her midwifery practice in New Mexico. We all feel blessed to have had Julie here with us for these six years, and are sad to see her go, but we wish her good fortune in her new life to come.
Robyn Churchill ran the Boston Marathon again this year, with less training, and still ran a 3:38. She keeps saying it will be her last, but let's see what happens next year!
Leila Forman submitted two photographs to the ACNM postage stamp contest, and while she did not win the honor of having a photograph printed on the ACNM 2009 annual stamp, she did have both of her photos published in the spring issue of Quickening.
We are proud to announce that Phyllis Gorman has been accepted into the Mount Auburn Hospital Medical Education Fellowship, Class of 2009-2010. Her area of interest is in medical students’ perception of pregnancy, labor, and birth as normal physiologic events, and she is dedicated to making this a part of their medical school education.
Jen Williams is currently planning her wedding and honeymoon. At the moment she and her new hubbie are considering heading to Puglia, Italy and perhaps Croatia, as well, after their wedding in September.
