Julia Dickinson, CNM, MSN

I was very fortunate to have the experience of completing my final midwifery internship with the Midwives at Mount Auburn in the spring of 2008. After spending 3 month at Mount Auburn as a student, they decided to hire me on as a full time midwife and I couldn't be happier. I am originally from St. Paul, Minnesota but I also lived in New Haven, CT for 3 years while I was completing my midwifery education at Yale University School of Nursing.

My father is a physician and my mother is an artist and I think both of their passions combined to lead me to midwifery. I studied Political Science at the University of Notre Dame as an undergraduate, but I always knew that eventually I would make a career out of caring for women.

My other interests include dance, music, volunteering and travel. In the summer of 2007, I was able live in Ethiopia on a fellowship through the Yale Medical School to study breastfeeding practices. I also was able to travel Uganda and work with some wonderful midwives there.
