My fascination with pregnancy and birth began at the age of three. I watched with awe and inspiration as my mother pushed my baby sister into this world with the help of a midwife, and it was all I could talk about for a long time. In college, I was drawn towards women's studies in the sciences, humanities, and social studies, and as soon as I graduated (with a degree in French Literature) I trained to be a doula to experience first hand the world of birth. I was consistently inspired both by the power of the women who I attended in labor, and by the continuous compassion and support provided by the midwives taking care of them.
After a few years of working as a doula and a high school French teacher, I began my midwifery training at the Yale School of Nursing. I spent my last semester of school working in Cambridge, and fell in love with the area. I am excited to be a part of the community and to work with such a great group of midwives!
In my spare time, I am a traveler and a photographer. I have traveled all over the world with my family and with friends, and have most recently come back from a month photographing the melting glaciers near the North Pole. I have done much photography around pregnancy and birth and hope to be able to continue with this project over the next few years.
