I graduated from Yale University in 1980 with an MSN and a certificate in nurse-midwifery.
My life has been shaped by growing up in a large extended family. As the eldest of 6 children and 26 first cousins, I’ve always been surrounded by pregnant women and babies! In 1970, I became friends with two wonderful women who also happened to be nurses. One worked at Planned Parenthood educating young women and the other delivered health care to the homeless. Their passion and commitment inspired me. When I was introduced to another of their colleagues, a nurse-midwife, a door opened to my life’s vocation. I feel blessed to be able to care for women and their families. Besides being “with women,” I love to sing, read, cook, talk endlessly with my friends, and go to the movies.
